[Park]ing is awesome. Kind of in the same ilk as Improv Everywhere, these kids rebel for the sake of the environment, art, some organised chaos, and to get you thinking a little bit.
A simple, but clever, idea - a car parking space is fenced off, and turned into a park (grass, benches, trees and everything). Why? Just because. But one of the reasons is that the organisers believe there are too many publics spaces which are for cars, instead of people. For instance, apparently 70% of San Francisco's downtown outdoor space is dedicated to vehicles. Which is dumb. And bad. And dumb.
[Park]ing has now become an annual event, and this year it's on September 19th.
