Arcade flyers of the 80s – back when bullet points were rad
<< Back
Back when bullet points were rad Jul 03, 2009 at 07:59
So it’s sometime in the mid 80s. You’ve got yourself a mean (non-ironic) moustache, a trucker cap, a Corvette and your own arcade parlour. The money is rolling in and life is good – except for one little problem.

With so many new games flooding the market, picking the next coin-op machine for your arcade is getting harder and harder. Make the wrong choice and you’ve sunk a cool $10K. Get it right and you can get your girlfriend implants...

Wait, what’s this? Flyers advertising the latest arcade games? Bullet points telling you all about their AWESOME features and how much money they take in? A friendly visit from Mr Sega / Williams / Taito / Capcom explaining how you can’t go wrong with their newest title and a complimentary media kit.

Seems your problems are solved. These illustrated flyers will help you navigate the arcade industry minefield and leave you plenty of spare time to wash your car while listening to Skid Row. Oh, and video game consoles? Pfft, those things will never catch on.

Image 5!!!!!! for decades I wanted to play that one. Finally got a chance last year at THE video game exhibition. Not pixels but vector graphics. All blue lines on a black screen. SO the graphics maintained to infinity, which was necessary, because I kicked Darth Vader's arse from here to the next dimension.
