Berry Weight isn’t diet lite

And it’s not a yoghurt flavour either Feb 09, 2010 at 12:12
Oh no – Berry Weight will not help you lose weight, beef up, act as a diet supplement or any of that. But what the somewhat mysterious duo of Apewok and Stab (from Canada and Switzerland respectively) can offer you is some sweet tunes. Sweet in the down-tempo, jazz-flecked, hip hop-inspired sense of the word.

At their best Berry Weight are Cinematic Orchestra-y and Little Dragon-ish, and at their worst (which isn’t very bad at all) they are earlier RJD2-ian. Their debut album Music For Imaginary Movies, released a couple of weeks back, is sweeping and gentle, and with the occasional help of Danish singer-Astrid Engberg and French clarinetist-Kledsy Jy one of the best gems we’ve happened across completely accidentally in the wide land they call the ‘internet’.
