Bo Diddley, grand-daddy of rock dies aged 79

Legendary blues and RnB singer, songwriter and guitarist and the grand-daddy of rock'n'roll, Bo Diddley has died at 79-years-old.

Diddley's influence began in the 50s and 60s, as both his style and rhythm were incredibly different and have been covered, copied and borrowed to this day. His first single 'Bo Diddley' was covered by greats like the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac and Creedence Clearwater Revival. A wild performer, many believe that Elvis Presley (and Hendrix) got his moves from Diddley.

Born Ellas Bates, Diddley died at his home in Florida apparently from heart failure.
