Cassette Playa clothing is crazy bright, ridiculously patterned, flashy, gaudy, loud and amazing. Flaunted by M.I.A., Dizzee Rascal, Afrikan Boy, Ruff Squad, and the Klaxons, the brand just won Rolling Stone's Best Costume Designer in their 'Best of Rock' edition.
The label was founded by Carri Munden, a 27-year-old Brit who worked at London fashion store with M.I.A. She says her collection was inspired by 80s and 90s skate culture and ancient hunting rituals. Interesting combination. The collection is a little Back to the Future II and a little Flintstones, with lots of oversized neon and some cartoon-ish animal print.
