Rens - I used to work for a guy who spent a lot of time in NY. He’d always say “Yo B, this shit is bananas”. Hopefully some of that ends up here.

Ghetto vans, ice cream trucks and rickshaw caravans by Kevin Cyr
<< Back
Art and Transportation Oct 13, 2008 at 10:32
I wouldn't necessarily call Brooklyn based artist, Kevin Cyr a rev head or anything but he does seem to have a fascination verging on obsession with motor vehicles. For the last few years, Kevin has been painting motorised transport of all shapes and sizes but mostly he's shown particular interest in abandoned bombs, found lemons and beasts destined for the junkyard.

He has an incredible eye for detail, keen to represent every little imperfection or piece of character of the vehicles he paints and often layers them onto backgrounds riddled with the hallmarks of an abused street setting. Awesome works.

Check out some samples of his ghetto rides to the right of this post and for more Kevin Cyr visit his website www.kevincyr.net
