Gallery 1988 takes on bad hair and big swords Jan 25, 2010 at 10:37
Anyone who grew up in the 80s would be familiar with He-Man. With a big ass sword, crazy ripped muscles, a 'battle cat' and a secret identity as a wealthy playboy, he was an inspiration to us all. He was also a license to print money. The Masters of the Universe franchise used to make stupid money thanks to the He-Man action figures, television series and the mountains of licensed crap.

25 years later, the same people who used to run around in their underwear with a plastic sword yelling "By the Power of Grayskull" are re-living their dodgy childhood memories. Los Angeles Gallery 1988 is hosting a new group exhibitions and if you haven’t already figured it out, He-Man (and The Masters of the Universe) is the focus. Let’s have a look, shall we.

Soooo good. I love the barber and dentist ones the most though.

Yeah, agree, barber and dentist are awesome. Meanwhile, even an illustrated Sasha Grey creeps me out.

Is that pile of coloured shapes next to Sasha Grey a collection of things she's selected to shove in her butthole?
