After graduating from Bard College with BA & MFA in Film Hellin Kay
got her first job in the fashion magazine world as an assistant to
Polly Mellen at Allure Magazine in New York.
Following Ms. Mellen's retirement, Hellin went on to spend almost a
decade working as a stylist, photographer and fashion director for
high-end glossy magazines such as Vogu, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, Spoon
and others.
During her staff positions here and abroad, she continued to take
photographs and make films & music videos. Working with young
stylists such as Kate Young and Kusum Lynn on her fashion photography
shoots, she has also styled many of her own as well as other
photogrpaher's shoots. Throughout the years she has worked steadily in
a variety of creative roles in fashion, music and art.
She continues to work as a photographer & stylist for fashion and
music magazines as well as record labels, recording artists and
advertising clients. Her personal work has appeared in several art
& literatue magazines, as well as books.
She currently lives and works between New York City and LA.
