Coming off the back of Wearemonster, his superb LP from mid 2005, Rajko Müller, AKA Isolee would seemingly have a monumental hurdle to leap in the immediate release of subsequent LPs. And while Western Store doesn’t really deliver on this front, it is a solid LP, made up of tracks selected from a collection of twelve inches released between 1997 and 2003. With his sound firmly planted in the realm of minimal electronica, Isolee’s signature micro house stylings remain abundant; however, Müller still manages to infuse his tracks with everything from hypnotic dub, to minimal click house and Detroit styled techno without ever losing touch of the sensibility he has created throughout. For fans of Isolee, Western Store will be a useful tool to fill the gaps between the LPs Rest and Wearemonster, and for everyone else it acts as an introduction to the eclecticism and uniqueness Isolee has come to be known for.
