When the folks at Stones Throw Records need an illustrated album cover, Jason Jagel is their Go-To-Guy. He’s provided artwork for both MF DOOM and Madlib in recent years and has done a bunch of other stuff for the label.
While the Stones Throw work is a nice side gig, the real money is in international art exhibitions. Jagel is obviously doing OK in that regard because he’s had shows throughout the US and Japan in recent years and everything has sold out with the quickness. Meanwhile, the solo exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art certainly doesn’t harm his CV.
