Jon Naar
With a career spanning over half a century, Jon Naar's photos open
a window into yesterday's world. Having had his work published in
everything from the New York Times, Harpers Bazaar and Vogue to being
exhibited all over the world at galleries like MOMA and Centre
Pompidou in Paris, his contribution to the craft has been
immense.
In the early 70's Jon took an interest in and began documenting the
emerging streeet art scene in New York. His book published way back in
1974 - The Faith of Graffiti,
is regarded by many as an iconic landmark in the history of street art.
In May this year, Jon published another book - The Birth Of Graffiti
featuring 155 mostly unpublished photos from his collection. Some fascinating images in there but his
editorial work from the 60's and 70's are very impressive also.
