Melbourne-based artist Martin Bell once transformed his home into an installation; collecting toys, games and bits and pieces; and eventually, he became part of the artwork in his own living space. Then he had a party.
Now My Birthday Party is being released. A 150 page, perfect bound, and full colour book which showcases Bell's photos, drawings, and collages in a documentation of his life - everything from the special, weird, significant, and personal. From cubby-houses to birthdays, the real and the imagined, My Birthday Party is more than another Coffee Table Book, it's part artwork, part photo album, part diary.
My Birthday Party (distributed by Modern Journal Book Distribution) will launch at Don't Come Gallery, Melbourne, on Thursday 28th February, and its international release is pending.
