Matthew Palladino's gangs and tigers and nudes
<< Back
Oh my! Aug 20, 2008 at 03:44
22-year-old San Franciso-based artist Matthew Palladino has been inspired by gang warfare, tiger attacks and possibly internet sleaze. Which, incidentally, is an excellent combination. Mostly working with watercolours, ink and acrylic gouache, Palladino's artworks are somewhat gentle versions of some extreme images. His portfolio is full of images that are colourful, bright and often have a dark side. Stay Out of the Rose Garden (image six) is particularly gorily beautiful.

Since dropping out of university, Palladino's had no trouble scoring himself work as an artist and just had a solo exhibition in San Francisco.

More at dumbstersf.com. Via fecalface.com where you can read a great interview with the artist.
