Natalia Fabia's painting titles pretty much always involve the word 'hooker' – there's 'Hooker Poker', 'Enchanted Hooker', 'Hooker Sleepover', 'Hooker Headdress' and more. Then there are her series' names: Hooker Dreamescape, Hooker Safari and Hooker Manor. Suffice to say that she has a soft spot for big-haired, vamp-ish, sultry, scantily clad, tattooed sex workers.
Fabia completed a degree at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and is inspired by "light, color, punk rock music, hot chicks and sparkles". Her hooker paintings are often almost photographic but also have an entirely unrealistic, magical tinge – with glitter veneers and candy colours throughout.
