Moody nudies Feb 17, 2008 at 08:00
Some people would say that Sunday morning is time for church, and is no time for nude ladies wearing masks on the beach. To those people I would say, any time is a good time for nude ladies wearing masks on the beach. Almost any time.

Nathan Appel's photography is essentially quite dark, eerie and moody. But, at times, it ventured a little too close to Barely Legal Semi Porn (why hello, tartan mini skirt, hair bleached within an inch of its life, chunky white heels and drag queen make-up) for me. So I left those ones out. But the ones in the gallery attached I really liked, none of them seem too contrived or insincere. Clever.

Enjoy. And remember, if God wanted you at church every single Sunday morning, s/he wouldn't have invented beaches. Or boobs. Or masks, for that matter.

Check out nathanappel.com for more.

Strange. There are some much better shots on his site, in fact all the ones I thought were good, they were fully clothed. Not that I don't like naked girls, the other shots are just better pictures. Reminds me of the flickr group I saw the other day where it's all pictures of girls in pig masks.. some crazy people out there.

This through me for a loop! Nathan is local to me and me being a model, I had seen his earlier work well...earlier. It is of a better qualilty and depth than these. His Flickr has a few images that are of interest. Not to say I'll be calling up Nate for a shoot anytime soon....but yeah...just check it out. There might be something you like over there at flickr.com/photos/nathanappel

Are you people at lifelounge aware that art includes things other than photography? Its all you ever seem to cover in your 'art' section. If all I wanted to see was more cliched photos of retail tossers with clothes built for retards trying ever so hard to look like they dont give a fuck and semi pretty girls with their tits hanging out, I'd look up one of those adults only left handed websites or I'd read Vice. There are already enough hipster party douche sack bad hair stupid sunglasses at night photo websites set up by dudes who were having trouble getting laid and decided to solve the problem with a camera. Stop encouraging them. I'm not saying this guy is one of them, I kind of like his photos, but could your art section please cover illustration or painting or chainsaw sewing or anything other than photography? I'm too lazy to go and find it myself so I'm relying on you doing it for me. Thank you. Good talk. Over

Why yes, Guest User, as a matter of fact we do know there are other kinds of art out there. That's why if you click on the Art tab (at the top of your screen) you'll find posts about illustrators, painters, sculptors and graffiti and stencil artists like Jose Mertz, Eduardo Bertone, Blek le Rat, Puzle, Oliver Hibert, Cat, Ryan Heshka, Lori Earley, Jennifer Maestre, Takato Yamomoto...
