Not a good week to be my feet AGAIN

Owie owie owie owie - but it's for a good cause Jun 17, 2009 at 12:02
Not just content with running for kids, I've decided to move onwards and upwards. Next Sunday, June 28th, I will be attempting my first half marathon. My feet aren't looking forward to it, but it's all for a very good cause.
The best thing about Run Melbourne is that you get to choose the charity that your money goes to. I have selected The Black Dog institute. They do a lot of work with bipolar disorder. So I guess I'm doing this run in the hope they find a cure for why I decide to sign up for half marathons.
Anyway, since we're all such a happy, sharing caring COMMUNITY here at Lifelounge, I'm putting the hard word on you guys to help get me over the line.
Anyone who donates to the cause will have their name inscribed on my arm pre-race so when I am feeling the pinch at the 1.5k mark, I can look to you and the great deed you have done in sponsoring me for inspiration.
Simply go here and get on board - no donation is too small, but seriously, you can at lest chuck in $10.

***Training fail*** I was supposed to go for my last longish run on Sunday but I couldn't as someone swapped my Saturday night protein shakes for 1000 beers. Ooops. Anyway, I am about to try and make up for it now during my lunch break. Get on board the donation train!

You can officially change your name to Notoriously Generous for this week my friend. Thanks for your support. I'll post a photo of your where your name ends up next week. Be warned though, I have been sponsored to grow a mo for the run too. .

Just a little advice- get yourself some decent sneekers. If you run in those weird shoes you're wearing in the photo, they may have to amputate at the finish line.
True Senior Member
I agree, those shoes are weird. I think its the laces, they look like ribbon you girly man. Who the hell do you think you are? Shaft?
True Respect
They're my Oliver Sweeneys you goddam philistines. I run in size 8 Brookes Adrenaline GTS with MOGO technology and Brookes special fit running socks. Never had a blister and I don't intend to start now.

Oh, and, thanks Pop n Fresh now I'm going to have to have the theme from Shaft on my iPod all the way around. Bow dow wowkawow chuckchucka...

You have a pledge from me Freeak Ass. And A beer (not a protein shake) my joint is looking after catering for the finish line yet. I don't know the full brief for sunday, but we have been told 15,000. FIFTEEN FUCKIN THOUSAND!
True Respect
Fifteen thousand was just my order. I don't know what you've got to cater for the rest. Thanks for your support Mirosh. It's nice to know who your REAL FRIENDS are. Boo hoo hooh ohoohohohohoh.... (runs away at an even pace with good rhythm...)

Having attended many a half marathon (as a respectable spectator) I can promise you will eat nothing when you arrive. In fact, you will probably puke. Sorry.
True Respect
Well I'm getting good at it. I've spent the last 12 hours doing exactly that. Damn poorly refrigerated left over chicken and sweet corn soup.
True Respect
C'mon kids! Still plenty of time to jump on the sponsorship train! Notorious Jay and Miro are showing you all up!
False Respect
Good luck buddy.
