Ahh Peaches, love her or hate her, she’s seemingly a woman on a mission, even if at times it’s not always clear exactly what that mission may be. With the release of her third, and perhaps strongest album to date, Impeach My Bush signals a return to Teaches of Peaches form after the anticlimactic release of Fatherfucker in 2003. Peaches hasn’t strayed too far from the mould with this one however, continuing her exploration into smutty sexual role reversals with her crosshairs seemingly locked directly on the dominant convention of the heterosexual male, and in a way you’ve gotta love her for it. Persisting with her stripped back drum machines, electroclash stylings, and track titles like Two Guys (For Every Girl) and Slippery Dick, Impeach My Bush is vintage Peaches through and through. She has upped her game though, thanks in part to her host of collaborators, including the likes of Josh Homme and Joan Jett, who lent their skills on a number of tracks with the results being a more substantial rock sound, aiding Peaches to remain a force to be reckoned with.
