M.I.A. performed at the Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee, USA this weekend and there have been a billion reports that she announced her retirement. Apparently quoted as saying "This is my last show and I’m glad I’m spending it with all my hippies." And later, during 'Paper Planes' the musical goddess said, "Thanks for coming to my last gig."
Meanwhile, a few weeks ago M.I.A. was paid $100 thousand to perform at an MTV Movie Awards after party. She announced "They’re giving me $100,000. Not bad, eh? I’m going to use it to build schools in Liberia."
Let's hope by "last show" she just meant it was her last show in Tennessee, or the US, or for the month of June.
