Rens - I used to work for a guy who spent a lot of time in NY. He’d always say “Yo B, this shit is bananas”. Hopefully some of that ends up here.

Some Type Of Wonderful Update 1

A Global Typographic Initiative Sep 24, 2008 at 04:06
Just in case you haven't noticed some of the banners scattered around the place, or heard through the traps, Lifelounge is currently running a typographic project that we've called SomeTypeOfWonderful. Twelve artists/designers and illustrators from all walks of life and various corners of the globe have been invited to create an individual typographic response based on a designated month of the year.

There's more specific info at the SomeTypeOfWonderful website but the basic idea is that in a few weeks from now we will be releasing an extremely limited edition run of A1 giclee prints signed by each of the artists and all of the artwork will be put together into a ring-bound A3 limited edition 2009 wall calendar for you all to enjoy for the following year. We'll also be holding an exhibition and launch at Melbourne's McCulloch Gallery in the last week of October but more info about that to come over the next few weeks.

There have been some changes but the final list of artists are Alex Trochut, Merijn Hos, Jesse Hora, Si Scott, Hellovon, Merda, Timba Smits, Puzle, Justin Lee Williams, Niels Shoe Meulman, Steve ESPO Powers and myself. Ten of the artists have already submitted their pieces with the other two expected very soon and I can tell you from what I've seen so far there's some amazing typographic and illustrative work. We'll be releasing a preview of the artwork over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned and to ensure sure you don't miss out on the prints or calendar visit the SomeTypeOfWonderful website and register your details. We'll keep you posted.
