Taishō and Meiji era swimsuit ladies
Racy. Saucy. Completely gratuitous. But not really. These are the
bathing suit girls of
Japan circa Taishō and Meiji eras (late 19th century and early 20th
century). These images, apparently of Geishas and Maikos (Geishas in
training) stripped of their recognisable kimonos, wearing swimsuits and
lounging around are from a fabulous flickr set we found; it's all
pastel-coloured sweetness
