The Bug does some songs with
Ricky Rankings who is mates with the Roots
Manuva’s
. The
London Zoo
album touches on
reggae, dancehall, dubset, hip hop
a little
techno
at points with some deep bass is signature Kevin. The song Angry with Tippa Irie touches on
terrorism, hurricane Katrina and global poverty
this is why it's one of my favorites on the album.
If you are wondering if the title of the album London Zoo is because Kevin had a great time at the London Zoo, you're wrong. Kevin stated that had initially been troubled in the run-up to London Zoo's release. "I wanted to make a soundtrack to London and my life over the past few years, which has been turmoil - especially living in an east-end studio - where the local crackheads gather - for two years", he explains, recollecting unnervingly grisly details. He eventually decided to move in January after he found a 60-year-old female addict shooting up, a methadone
clinic across the street and human excrement littering the building.
