The Killers want to know if we're human or dancers

The Killers' first single 'Human' premiered two days ago on radio and you know what? Apart from the fact it will probably be featured on advertisements for a giant 4WD and somebody will create a heinous remix of it that will be played on commercial radio, it's bound to score some fans.
Working with their tried and tested songwriting technique, 'Human' builds and builds with Brandon Flowers' vulnerable-sounding voice keeping it from becoming too melodramatic – which isn't to say it's not melodramatic at all. It is. It's the Killers after all.
It's getting lots of mixed reviews with Marc Hogan (Pitchfork) saying "I never quite got the hype, and "Human", from the Las Vegas band's forthcoming Day and Age, doesn't help." But the Las Vegas fellas are also being praised for apparently taking on board some of the criticism they copped for Sam's Town.
It's no 'When You Were Young' melodically or lyrically, with some of Flowers' lyrics bound to make you wonder. Or cringe. Or both.

I love the Killers, but this is a mishmash of cliched lyrics stapled together by random power chords. Have they been collaborating with Coldplay and U2? Vomit.

The new album has been produced by Stuart Price. Yep the same guy that did Madonna's confessions on a dancefloor album.
God know's what this new killers album is gonna sound like, but I won't hold my breath for any song writing awards.
Mainstream all the way. If that's how they want to make their money then so be it.
