The Mighty Underdogs might be a Bay Area supergroup

Even though we all have our version of a supergroup, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Hednodic (Crown City Rockers) and Lateef the Truthspeaker (Latryx) are pretty close to a kind of Bay Area hip hop version. With plenty of nods to the old school and some excellent rhyming skills between the three of them, The Mighty Underdogs aren't necessarily doing anything to revolutionise hip hop, but aren't trying to either. It's just old fashioned, no fancy stuff (except for when it comes to Gab's quick vocal skills) hip hop music.
The trio have their debut album Dropping Science Fiction due out in October which features Chali2na of Jurassic 5, MF Doom, DJ Shadow and Mr. Lif. And they're touring Australia and New Zealand throughout September and October alongside Blackalicious.
