There's no faffing around with this brand-spankin-new Roots song; it's fairly minimal with ?uestlove's always awesome percussion, and Black Thought's almost stream of conscience rhyming, as he splashes the N-word around like Oprah wears diamonds. Lots.
The first leaked track from the upcoming Rising Down, '75 Bars (Black's Reconstruction)' isn't a patch on earlier killers like 'The Seed 2.0' or 'Don't Say Nuthin' or '100% Dundee' or 'Rock You' (or pretty much the whole Phrenology album) but the Roots are the Roots, and there's very, very, very little room for hate. They are extremely close to perfection a lot of the time.
