Rens - I used to work for a guy who spent a lot of time in NY. He’d always say “Yo B, this shit is bananas”. Hopefully some of that ends up here.

'Birthday Girl' and 'Get Busy' Mar 11, 2008 at 12:02
So while '75 Bars (Black's Reconstruction)' was the first leaked track from the upcoming Roots album Rising Down, apparently 'Birthday Girl' featuring Patrick Stump will be the official first single.

Meanwhile, if anybody was capable of making a member of Fallout Boy become even mildly bearable or listenable (yes, I realise that's not a real word), the Roots are the fellas. And they've succeeded. But after a few listens, it's time for a remix. Or something.

Despite some kind of borderline iffy lyrics (it's about young ladies who "look right, but her brain isn't ready" and then the R. Kelly, "gutter smut peddlers", and internet predator jokes ensue) the tricky moment is realising that they play the creepy man and concerned big brother all at once. The sound is pretty cutesy, and is a very different sound from the darker, harder tracks 'Get Busy' (below) and '75 Bars'.
