The sound of Clipse's casket dropping involves a lot of bass
<< Back
We get a sneaky preview of their forthcoming album Sep 23, 2009 at 09:54
Take it from us: there is a track on the new Clipse album that may or may not sound Euro-dance. And it’s only because it’s Neptunes-produced that the Virginian brothers can (almost) get away with it and, more to the point, make it sound good.

We were only privy to a once-over listen to the Clipse’s forthcoming third album Til The Casket Drops, but from that brief flirtation, we can say that the sound is big. That one listen caused pen to meet paper and come up with the following notes: "big club sound", "sinister", "I think they’re talking about drugs again..."

The duo appears to be expanding their base without trying to alienate their already existing fans, which means that they’ve stretched out on a number of different types of beats. The Clipse’s manager revealed that Pusha T and Malice worked with a number of producers for a whole year and came up with a few tracks before they linked with Pharrell and banged out 15 in the space of a month. Eight of those appear on Til The Casket Drops, with the rest coming courtesy of DJ Khalil and producers Sean C and LV.

One surprise on the album was the kinda breezy feel of the latest single 'I’m Good' featuring Pharrell. Let’s just say that cardigans are worn in the film clip and in this case, it’s not a bad thing at all. For those of you in the US, behold the video here.

For the rest of you, here’s the track minus the clip:
