After months of whispered diplomacy, tight-lipped replies from international press representatives, and countless nights without sleep, the most important international alliance this side of the Pacific Ocean has broken: iconic chain-store Topshop is (Holy Sweet Jesus of Mother Mary!) coming to Australia.
We admit it: Topshop, we were starting to feel a little bit cold-shouldered there for a while. Sure, we had our express international shipping and our tokenistic preview of the Christopher Kane collection; but browsing the web was sometimes made bitter by the knowledge that the Frenchies and Yanks were getting it first hand at retailers such as Collette and Opening Ceremony. Luckily, Topshop has just extended the best kind of olive branch: a collaborative deal with one of our own.
The UK label will soon be found on the second floor of Sydney’s cult high-end boutique Incu. Monthly updated stock will include the Kate Moss collaboration and the ‘Unique’ catwalk collection which just debuted its Spring / Summer 2010 collection last week at London Fashion Week.
You did good, Topshop, you did good.
Soon there will be less reason to visit topshop.com.
