Reminiscent of wet plate photography from the Victorian era, Travis
Louie's portraits have an unsual vintage quality. His monochromatic
paintings feature imaginary mutant manimals and monsters posing like
upperclass society types from the 19th century that very well could
have existed back in the day.
Whether they be a cyclops that lives
beneath people's beds and smell like marchmellows or a monkey man
servant who serves a blind aristocrat who recently returned from India,
each of his characters have a story. His paintings are incredibly
detailed and imaginitve and well worth a look.
