I can't walk past a pawnbrokers without ducking in to check out their vintage videogames. I'm convinced I will eventually find something worth a huge ammount of money going for cheap. In the meantime, I buy all kinds of random, retro tat. Like some of the stuff I've picked up in Brisbane while on holidays.

Best of Neo Geo Box Art

There's crappy artwork, and then there's crappy artwork that's kinda awesome. SNK's videogame box-art falls into the latter category.
The company made a whole lot of fighting games in the 90s (for the Neo Geo system) and made some super shitty box to accompany them all. But it was super shitty in an endearing and cool kinda way.

The new Animal Crossing game for Wii was released today! It's just like the previous two games in the series; only a little bit different.
Looks like I'm going to spend the next two months of my life repaying a virtual home loan to a racoon, trying to purchase co-ordinating furniture for my house and running errands for mouthy animals with parasol obsessions...
Oh, if you don't know anything about the game, just imagine The Sims as re-imagined by Nintendo and featuring a cast of animals in sunday dresses and trousers.

Alpaca Wednesday Is Dead

So I’ve decided to retire
alpaca Wednesdays for a while. The update has been running every week for the
last three months and, frankly, it’s getting harder and harder to find decent
images. I’ve had to resort to Google image searches in foreign languages for
the last couple of weeks so, you know, things have been getting a bit grim.
Alpaca Wednesday will return
once the world’s supply of alpaca photos has been replenished and I can find
more to steal online. Meanwhile, here are two final images for the road.
Oh, and while I’m here, please
visit my official blog / website thing when you get a chance. It doesn't have alpacas
but there is general weirdness. Team Evil
