Fabulous Levi's TV advertisements from the 70s Nov 12, 2008 at 04:41
Often, the interwebs gives us the dregs; sad people shagging in front of cyber-cams, dumb people's racist rants, ugly computer-generated fan art, and annoying people blogging about stuff they don't know about. But every now and then, you travel along the rainbow to find a pot of gold, unicorns frolicking, goddesses singing, leprechauns dancing and puffy clouds raining diamonds and joy.

That's how we felt when we discovered these awesome Levi's advertisements from the 1970s.

Levi's 'Walking Trademark':

Levi's 'Evolution':

Levi's 'The Stranger':

Levi's claymation:

I want to live in a world of Levis slacks and jeans with Dacron Polyester.. Dacron Polyester...Dacron Polyester Seriously , these commercials blew my mind. The claymation production one beats most of the hipster music videos made now. Levis were way ahead of their time!

Apaprently the Trademark ad was one of, if not THE most expensive ad of its time. $20mil back in the 70s... huge. Very, very cool graphics.

I think I had some Levi's cords that were made from Dacron Polyester (...Dacron Polyester) they were mustard coloured and it was all in an attempt to look like Drew Barrymore circa 1995.

i love the animation style in the Stranger Ad. enough with pixel perfect cgi crap that's everywhere these days... bring back the imperfection of hand I say. infinitely more rad.

You know there's something wrong with the world when you thing it was less conservative in the 70's than it's today...

Hey the animation is the best. It's a psychedelic version of Fantasia.

I mean...the animation before the last ad. The rest is rubbish.

Far out! I want the stranger to come to our town! I also want more apparent pubic bush! Why did theat ever go out of style?
True Senior Member
God I just watched the rest of them- Remember when it was just assumed that all the cool people were smoking pot?

This is the golden age of advertising as far as I'm concerned. It's all about making the product look cool, not satisfying the egos of wankers.

That first ad is positively cosmic.
