What do Pharrell Williams, David Hockney, Charles Baudelaire, JohnMayer, Amy Beach and Duke Ellington all have in common? What does B# looklike? Does the number four have a fragrance? Ever heard of synesthesia? Is this confusing?
The introduction to N*E*R*D's album, Seeing Sounds, is a voice-over of Pharrell reminiscing about his childhood and how at 7-years-old he began seeing sounds. Like other creative clever cookies throughout time, it's believed that Williams has synesthesia, a condition which means a bunch of different things to different people. To some, a number might have a specific odour, a day of the week might have a particular personality or, as in Williams' case, you might see colours instead of solely hearing music, like us mortals. Interesting, no?
So, Williams has been seeing all kinds of colours, and they have manifested into Seeing Sounds the album which is set for release on 10th June. Here are couple leaked songs from it.
