A little cardboard, glue and a whole lot of crazy - Chris Gilmour
<< Back
Carboard Sculpture Aug 21, 2008 at 02:03
Although particularly gifted, Chris Gilmour must be a little bit on the crazy side right?... I mean to have the kind of patience that is required to build life-size replicas of everyday mundane objects with meticulous detail, only using glue, packaging cardboard and a scalpel as his tools, he must be a loopy. When I talk about detail it's the real deal too. Not only does he have the patience to build these cardboard models of objects like a microscope or the classic Fiat 500, but he leaves nothing out, including, engine parts, dashboard dials, you name it. Nut job.

Check out some of the fruits of his craziness to the right of this post and for more visit chrisgilmour.com

You're right NJ. That bike close-up is of the chain. It is also of the gears, rear fork and back wheel.

Wouldn't it be cool if he made a life size cardboard house with cardboard furniture and people? I'd pay to see that!

Pretty nice work. I was wondering whether this guy was some kind of megalomaniac homeless.

Awesome! At 16 I did work experience in a cardboard factory but the best we came up with was dressing as crumby cardboard robots. I doff my [cardboard] hat to Gilmour!
