Recognised as one of the main representatives of the Pop Art movement in the 1960's, Mel Ramos's well known illustrations depict pin-up girls glamourously draped over or within commercial objects like a garnish, reminiscent of the suggestive advertising of the 50s. His work aims to point out the ridiculousness and incompatibility of the two subjects used frequently by the advertising industry of the past and the irrelevance of their association.

"I make sure that my pictures are not too erotic and that they always
have a trace of humor. I make sure they are ‘in good taste.’ Either you
understand it or not." - Mel Ramos
She's been described by former Daily Mirror editor, Piers Morgan as a "drunken, foul-mouthed, ill-mannered, paranoid Croydon girl with a cocaine-desecrated hooter and spots". The tabloids frequently love to pay out on her and this
year PETA added her to their World's Worst Dressed Celebrities of 2008 for her frequent use of fur but still we love her so.

Think what you will of her personal life, Kate Moss has had one of the most impressive modeling careers in the history of modeling careers. Below is a collection of images from the infinite archive that is the KateMossCollection (via the artist and his model).
Hot pants- smokin' that-hot pants."

Check out this collection of fashion photography from the early 70s. Yo mama (and maybe yo papa) wore hot pants... true story.

Aguilera not look like a trashbag is truly gifted in my opinion.
Photographer Vincent Peters was born and raised in Germany and has been
working in the image business since the late 80's. His work has features in countless fashion/lifestyle mags including French/Italian/Bristish Vogue, Daze and Confused, The Face, Numero, Ten.
Each of the scenes in Bill Owen's famous Suburbia series, document a world and a time that most of us can only recall through Winnie Cooper, Kevin Arnold and the Wonder Years. The images depict a culturally vacuous, middle-class suburban California in 1972 and became known worldwide as the classic photographic description of the American suburban dream.

It was a time of the Vietnam War, the re-election of Nixon, Watergate and the birth of Pong. To put the series together, Owens shot on every Saturday for an entire year (52 weeks) documenting typical family events like Christmas, Thankgiving, 4th of July, Birthday etc. An interesting and nostalgic look at another time.
It's a known fact that the church isn't as relevant to the younger generations as it has been to previous. In a somewhat desperate attempt to gain some attention from the community and ring in some new members, the Holy Trinity of North America have opted for illuminated signs to spread their religious message. Photographer Sandy Carson has documented a few of the more humorous signs. I can't work out if they're taking the piss... either way they're pretty funny.
Photographer Alison Jackson, seemingly has access to some of the most private moments of some of the most public people. She manages to capture the unimaginable, like images of The Queen on the toilet and Bush and Blair sharing a sauna together but all is not as it seems.

Snacks, beer and magazines could be the trifeca of all things good. The lovely people at Mag Nation helped us make dreams come true at their Greville Street store last week for the launch party for Lifelounge Week. With all things Lifelounge (including, but not limited to, giant muscle men and crying children) Mag Nation was transformed into a Lounger's paradise.
Over forty years since his death and the Argentine Marxist revolutionary, Che Guevara would arguably still be the most recogniseable face of the last 100 years... The famous image taken by Cuban photographer Alberto Korda in 1960 of the revolutionary, for decades has been preproduced on posters, t-shirts and even currency and still to this day is the symbol of rebellion and revolution worldwide. As famous as it is, Korda (now deceased) hasn't received any royalties for it (although in 2000 vodka brand Smirnoff was sued for the miss use of the image, however Korda donated the settlement of $50K to the Cuban health care system).

When asked about the illicit use of his image Corda said "As a supporter of the ideals for which Che Guevara died, I am not averse to its reproduction by those who wish to propagate his memory and the cause of social justice throughout the world, but I am categorically against the exploitation of Che's image for the promotion of products such as alcohol, or for any purpose that denigrates the reputation of Che".

Below are some of the less famous images of one of history's most influential figures.
